Never Want to Wake From You.

Happy Anniversary, Anita.
Lyrics and music by Ruben Rivera (aka, Rattus Scribus).
(Sightly revised from my original composition of March, 1997)

"Long ago..." the story goes

He met a princess in a world of dreams

With hair like night, and starry eyes
The heart of legends they sing far and wide

And in between she won her lover's soul
After all these years, I love her so

If you're my dream
I never want to wake from you
If you're my, my dream
I never want to wake from you

In dreams where anything comes true
I can do anything I want to

Live in the sea

Or fly with wings

Or make a carousel from Saturn's rings

But not one of these compares with you
and the love I feel when I sing you to you:

If you're my dream
I never want to wake from you
If you're my, my dream
I never want to wake from you

If growing up
and waking means

that life is real

and love the dream

I'd rather stay asleep with you

and show to all the world what love can do

For love can make this world a fantasy
like heaven where we're meant to be

If you're my dream
I never want to wake from you
If you're my, my dream
I never want to wake from you

Happy Anniversary, my Anita

I am sitting here at my desk, the students have left, I am exhausted after our science fair, but seeing this wonderful song that you wrote so long ago has resurrected memories of all the years we have spent together, dreaming our dreams and making them come true. I am in tears because I know that this song is from heaven, from the deepest love any two humans can experience and that it is ours. Merci mon cher de tout mon coeur....tu es mon reve, mon amour pour toujours...BON ANNIVERSAIRE DE MARIAGE!

Ruben, I so love to read your comments on my posts! Not only do they make my day, but they crack me up! Today as I was reading your comments I was laughing so much that my husband came downstairs to find out what was going on. YOU ARE HYSTERICAL!!! I also wanted to say that I do not mean to demean or diminish what teachers do at all ... but my experiences were so contrary to what would be considered "normal" that I can't help but have the opinions I do ... based on my own experiences, of course. That is why I have told you in the past, I wish I'd had a teacher/mentor like you. Truthfully, though I was not a trouble-maker or little gangster girl, I can admit that was probably a pain in the neck and always the class clown. Thanks again for stopping by ... it means a lot to be me that someone with your august accomplishments takes the time to come on over and read my little blog!

GOD BLESS -

AND LOVE TO ANITA AS ALWAYS.

P.S. Anita mentioned you two might be coming to CA this summer. I hope so! I'd love for all of us to get together!

Ruben, First of all, Thank you so much for being a loving, caring husband to Anita. What more could I ask for my cousin...

Second, wouldn't it be great if when you come out this Summer you could record your song in our studio? JC has recorded two CD's entirely and is constantly working on projects for other people. He's quite good at arranging. I'll bet he could do a great job in the short time you'll be here. Think about it.

Third, WHAT A TEASE! I love the lyrics but I'd so much love to hear the song. Unless of course, it's for Anita's ears only, in which case, I totally understand.

Happy Anniversary to the two of you. I pray another 50 years more!

With love,
Elizabeth

We, as in you and my husband, Anita and I, have found wonderful soul mates haven't we? Randy used to write songs also. The one that he associates me with is from Elvis Costello's song called "SHE". It's from the movie, (one of his favourites) "Knotting Hill". Tell Anita to look up the words, I think she will understand the relation to me from Randy's perspective.
Getting carried away here... Congratulations on your beautiful Anniversary. You have a gem of a wife, but I'm sure you already know that. Just checking!!!
I'd also love to hear the song. I love voices, and it seems I don't get enough of them through this computer lol
Again Happiness to both of you for many more years to come. I adore your wife. Maybe someday we will all meet. You and Randy would have so much to talk about. Sounds like your mids think alike. Anita and I can sit and dream, you and Randy can talk talk talk. Deal?
Sending hugs to both of you on this special day.
Love Claudie

Hello Dear Reuben...
I am Ms Country Wings in Phoenix, a dear friend of Anitas. I have to tell you I so adore her, and your song that you wrote for her is absolutely beautiful. Isn't it wonderful when we love someone so much, our heart just opens and pours out our love for each other?

My DH and I have been married now 35 years, and God has been so good to us both. He has allowed us this precious time together to share and grow. He has blessed us with 3 grown children and 7 (almost 8 in June) grandchildren. The circle of life is so beautiful.

Thank you for sharing with me Rueben and for allowing Anita to grow and become the beautiful woman that she is. You have allowed her to spread her wings and fly, and she has allowed you to do the same.

You are both truly blessed to have this special love. Happy Anniversary my friend. Thank you again for sharing.

Country hugs...Sherry

Hi Ruben, nice to meet you here. I come from Anita's Saturday post. She is totally right to send us here! How romantic, it doesn't get any better than this. I feel that the world should need more romantics so you and your lovely wife are doing great. The comments are great too, I love that you shout out loud that the world should know that you love your wife. And why not? I think that loving each other so much gets better and better each year, what do I say each day, each minute. Is there anything better than to have your love and soulmate by your side each and every day? You have captured that beautifully in that song, well done! Wishing you a happy anniversary and many many happy years to come. Please take care that you never ever loose these beautiful feelings. Warm wishes from afar, LiLi

Good Evening Ruben My Friend...
I am so tickled you popped by and that you love my rain and ofcourse my Monday awakening. DH was so sad, but he too had to laugh at the situation. Ofcourse that was because it was not him that had to totally change in a hurry for something else. You see, once a lady has in her mind what she is going to wear for the day, she is also accessorized everything along with it. Getting ready for work takes time. Well I got the last laugh, he missed his bus, while I drove on to work, he had to wait for the next bus. Good thing he had his umbrella, because it was raining. (I didn't post that part of the story, but I thought for sure you and Anita would adore it.)

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please give my precious friend a BIG hug and tell her it is from Country Wings. Thank you Ruben. Have a beautiful Tuesday. Country hugs, Sherry
