"Our enormously productive economy demands that we make consumption our way of life. That we convert the buying and use of goods into rituals. That we seek our spiritual satisfaction, our ego satisfaction, in consumption." (Victor Lebow)

The FTC exposed these companies for making unproven claims that their products help prevent cancer, lower blood-pressure, improve your attention span, strengthen your immune system, and add years to your life.
They should call these cookies, "Mrs. Cheaply's"
Doesn't the above transformation require the reorganization of matter

Where has the truth gone? Up in smoke I believe..
I often wonder who really takes these advertisements to heart. Love the man in the before and after in only three days. Right... like that's going to happen... I guess we just need to use our common sense and ignore all this nonsense. Personally, I find this advertising to be an offense to the viewer’s intelligence.
Great post Ruben.
Thank you so much for coming over to meet Darby and your kind words.
Enjoy your evening with Anita.

Once again you have me rolling on the floor!! The wolf in sheep's clothing is so perfect! I don't think "truth in advertising" exists... it's just a hmmmm, not fairy tale... not fiction novel... Oh I'll just say it's a LIE!! There is none! About the only thing or person I believe anymore on TV is Dr Oz.
I'll stop now... I could go on forever since I grew up in the 50's when most things were just what they were.
Have a grand day!! Sherry
Just goes to show ya...ya can't believe everything you read!
I have to admit most of 'em truly struck my funny bone (it's exposed most of the time anyway) and cracked me up!
You have yourself a marvelously blessed and beautiful day man! :o)
WOW. ALL of you, and you my beloved husband of almost 30 years, your wings have helped me fly further than I could have imagined. But now, instead of imagining, I am living it. THANK YOU TO ALL...Anita
Wow. How gullible some people must be. That 'Cigares de joy' ad is a doozy! I had to share it with my family. We all had a chuckle at it and the 3 days body make over and 60 minute face-lift. Good grief.
Interesting post, Ruben.
(Be funny if the Lord really did return on the 21st May 2012...seeing as He didn't make it in 2011)
