Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

By Ruben Rivera. Art by Anita Rivera

Tea Rat: Rattus?

Rattus: Yes?

Tea Rat: Do you think we'll have snow for Christmas? Christmas is not Christmas without snow.

Rattus: You know there are many places in the world where it doesn't snow, and the people in those places still celebrate Christmas. So in fact, Christmas can be Christmas without snow.

Tea Rat: Rattus?

Rattus: Yes?

Tea Rat: Does it snow here?

Rattus: Of course.

Tea Rat: Rattus?

Rattus: What is it?

Tea Rat: Do you think we'll have snow for Christmas? Christmas is not Christmas without snow.

We've all had "those" conversations with someone from time to time.

Here's a sweet story for you. When the boys were little we purchased a home next to a very nice family. They had a young son that was mentally challenged and his favorite thing to say to you was "Hi My name's Billy. What's your name?" then he would repeat the whole thing over and over again. My boys loved Billy and would always play with him, they were taught that people like Billy were loved the same by God, maybe even more. Well eventually Billy's grandma came to live with them. She had Alzheimers and would sit on the front porch in the swing and ask anyone that came along "Hi. Whats your name?" Billy and Grandma made a perfect match. They would sit on the front porch for hours asking each other "what's your name". My boys still bring up Billy and the perfect match God made between a grandson and grandmother.

Happy New Year friend! Sherry
